Product description
SP FireStop OSCB 44 is a continuous intumescent strip fixed to the leading edge of a foil faced stone wool barrier, encapsulated by a weather-resistant polythene sleeve. It forms an open-state cavity barrier within a rainscreen system. In the event of a fire, the intumescent strip will quickly expand outwards to seal off the cavity, preventing the passage of fire and smoke.
SP FireStop OSCB 44 is designed and tested for use in conjunction with ROCKWOOL® RainScreen® Duo Slab and NyRock® RainScreen 032 only.
Installed horizontally and designed to ensure an appropriate open air space is maintained, SP Firestop OSCB 44 is suitable for cavity widths up to 425mm.
*subject to application
- Tested in accordance with ASFP Technical Guidance Document 19
- Up to 120 minutes of fire integrity*
- Satisfies NHBC and CWCT guidance for ventilation gaps

Special remarks
We had our hands full working with the designers to get the building right. With three main façade systems being removed and replaced, the building shape, the number of openings/interfaces and the subsequent issues identified once we had removed the un-safe facades, it was challenging. We used ROCKWOOL technical support on site for both advice on u-values, and identifying the best products to overcome site-based fire stopping issues. Daniel Mackie, Director at Hamilton
